Wild Yam Curry


500g Wild Yam
01 Tsp Raw Curry Powder
1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder
1/2 Tsp Maldives Fish
02 cups Coconut Milk (Second Extract)
01 cup Coconut Milk (First Extract)
04 nos Green Chili
01 tsp White Rice
01 tsp Scraped Coconut
1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds
02 nos Lemon Juice
03g Pandanus (Rampe)
03g Curry Leaves
03g Cinnamon Sticks Crushed
Salt To Taste


  1. Clean the yam skin properly & boil with salt 
  2. Add curry powder, turmeric powder, Maldives fish, green chili, pandanus (rampe), curry leaves & cinnamon
  3. Cook in 2nd extract coconut milk
  4. Cook without mashing the yam
  5. Combine white rice, coconut and mustard seeds
  6. Grind & mix with the curry
  7. Add 1st extract coconut milk & cook for five minutes
  8. Add salt to taste


  • After removing from the fire, cook the curry for 10 minutes & add little lemon juice & mix. This will give a good taste for the tongue
