A Meaningful Learning Experience
On 18 June 2026, Sigiriya Jungles Resort & Spa had the pleasure of welcoming the students and staff of Don Bosco, Nochchiyagama for an educational tour designed to provide insights into the hospitality industry and sustainable tourism practices.
The visit offered students a unique opportunity to experience the day-to-day operations of a resort and gain a deeper understanding of the many functions that contribute to creating memorable guest experiences. Team members from various departments shared their knowledge and experiences, giving students a practical perspective on careers in hospitality and tourism.
Exploring Hospitality and Sustainability
During the tour, students were introduced to key aspects of resort management, including guest services, operations, food and beverage, housekeeping, and maintenance. The program also highlighted the importance of sustainability in the hospitality sector and the role resorts can play in protecting the environment while supporting local communities.
As a resort committed to responsible tourism, Sigiriya Jungles continues to promote sustainable practices across its operations. Sharing these experiences with young learners helps create awareness about the importance of balancing tourism development with environmental and social responsibility.
